Newsletter Week 13 11/12-11/16

Great field trip! Thank you for all your input into the trip. We had a great time and learned a lot.

This week:
    Math: Finish with subtraction and take a test on Thursday, 11/15
    Science: Animal Kingdom
    Language Arts: Application of complete, compound and complex sentences
    Reading: Please download "The Boy on Fairfield Street" by Kathleen Krull, Steve Johnson and Lou Rancher

Spelling and Vocabulary:
Focus on the r-controlled "e"

Spelling Dictation: 
1. That boy had a lot of nerve to eat my food.
2. The priest will use the materials to build a new church.

Vocabulary:
  1. feasted- to eat a lot of something, or to take a lot of something in either physically or mentally 
  2. explore- to go looking for something 
  3. sledding- riding a sled on snow down a hill
  4. doodling- drawing silly pictures without any reason to be drawing 
  5. excelled- to do really well at something 
  6. gather- to come together 
  7. prowl- to sneak around looking for something to attack
  8. stubborn- wanting to only do what you want, no matter what
  9. chatter- to talk a lot
  10. perhaps- maybe
