Newsletter Week 7 9/24-9/28

Math: Finish up our unit on money. There will be a test over money on Thursday, 9/27/12.

L.A.: Affixes; primarily focusing on prefixes this week.

Science: The Water Cycle

Reading: Finish reading "The Secret of the Painted House." There will be a test over the book on Friday, 9/28/12.

Spelling and Vocabulary: Focus on the spelling pattern: -ou-

Vocabulary Words and Definitions
weeping willow- a big tree with drooping leaves that looks like grass.
unlit- not lit, not on fire.
protect- to guard yourself or something from harm
shudder- for your body to shake with fear or from being cold.
disappear- to go out of sight
mournful- sounding very sad
sneakers- tennis shoes
oozed- to flow slowly
grimy- slimy, sticky, dirty
prickled- a tingling or prickling feeling- like when your foot falls asleep
